Happy Independence Day! We are certainly blessed to have liberty in our land.  Even better is having been set free from bondage through Christ. Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage (Galatians 5:1 KJV).

July 1st, 2019 was day 1 of our sober-living program, the Fresh Start Initiative. Thank you for your prayers and support to make this sober-living program possible. Peer-to-peer accountability and Christ-centered teaching will help the men and women in the program grow in their sobriety, relationships, and faith.

Resident Highlight

Dan Bacholl has been living at the Bridge Street Mission since April 2018. When Dan moved into the Bridge Street Mission residential facility, he was working with his team of helpers from Marathon County and was just trying to get a place to call home.  Dan has excelled, and during the 15 months that Dan has been with the mission, he has been an amazing help to many people by being a friend, giving rides, and donating his time to help Chaplain Ben at the mission. This year alone, with the help of another volunteer, Dan has put in more than 100 hours picking up and distributing more than 100 grocery carts of food. Dan is living out our mission: “Christ-Centered help for Those in Need!”

Volunteer Opportunities

Thank you to all who pray, volunteer time, donate food items, and help pay for the expenses of serving our community and helping homeless and addicted men and women.  Through your generosity, you have served meals, given rides, taught Bible studies and devotions, offered basic life-skills training, and helped in many other ways.

This year alone, more than 2,000 hours have been donated by volunteers, thousands of meals have been provided, and countless lives have been touched. Thank you for serving those in need in our community.

Would you consider giving $180/month to support someone entering the program so they can focus on being discipled, participating in Bible study, and learning to become a contributing member in the community of Wausau and in the body of Christ?  Thank you for all your support, and as always, we appreciate and ask that you keep our staff, residents, and guests in prayer.

In God’s Amazing Grace!
